What it’s for: a smart plug — make any plug-in appliance smart. The Shelly Plus Plug UK sits between a standard UK socket and any appliance, adding remote control, schedules and accurate power metering. Lamps, heaters, dehumidifiers, the washing machine — switch them from the app or by voice, and see exactly what each one costs to run.

A full set of protections (overheating, overvoltage, overcurrent, overpower) keeps things safe, and the LED ring around the socket shows live power draw at a glance — green at idle through to red near the limit. It handles resistive, capacitive and inductive loads up to 13 A.
